How this list is built

Great, Good and Fair price compare one car's asking price with the median asking price of comparable cars listed on AutoDealersHub. Comparable cars are the same make and model within 15,000 miles (or 25% of its odometer, whichever is wider) of its mileage, and we need at least 3 comparable listings from at least 2 different dealers, not counting the car itself. We look for them in this order: the same trim and model year; then the same trim within 1 model year either side; then, when too few listings share the trim, every trim within 1 model year either side. A car with no odometer reading gets no label at all. Great price means 20% or more below that median, Good price 10% or more below, and Fair price anything from less than 10% below it to less than 5% above it; a car asking 5% or more above the median gets no label. When every trim had to be compared, the label is never better than Fair. A car with far more miles than its comparables can never read Great or Good. When 8 or more cars of the same year, make, model and trim are judged this way, at most 2 read Great and 3 read Good, the furthest below their medians first. This compares asking prices only; it does not account for options, history or condition.
